Dr Schlemmer completed his undergraduate training in medicine and surgery (MBChB) at the University of Pretoria. In the years that followed he worked in various disciplines including emergency medicine and anaesthetics DA (SA) before specializing in ENT at the University of Kwazulu Natal obtaining the FCORL (SA) with distinction from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa in 2011 and an MMED (UKZN) in 2014.
His passion for ENT and thirst for knowledge led him to further his education at every opportunity and to develop a special interest in neurotology (balance and inner ear disorders), skull base surgery and implantable devices seeking to learn from leading experts attending 19 international (in 13 different countries) and 27 local courses, congresses and workshops. He is the current co-ordinator of the Durban Cochlear Implant Program, a research associate at the University of Pretoria, an honorary lecturer at UKZN and has delivered over 40 academic presentations. He has published in international peer reviewed journals and is a recognized reviewer for the International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology.
Dr Naidoo completed her undergraduate medical training at the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine in Durban between 1997 and 2002. She then worked at the Pretoria Academic Hospital during her internship year and returned to Durban in 2004 to serve her community service at the GJ Crookes Hospital.
Dr Naidoo has travelled within the United Kingdom and Scotland working at various hospitals.
Upon returning to South Africa she joined the Department of ENT at the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine once more to commence her training in ENT.
After 4 years of specialist training, working at various hospitals in Durban, Dr Naidoo qualified as an ENT consultant and took up a post as a specialist ENT surgeon at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital for 3 years before making the decision to begin private practice.
Dr Naidoo has an interest in Paediatric ENT and Head and Neck Surgery. She ensures the continuation of her professional development, keeping updated on current evidence and future trends by attending congresses, courses and meetings.
